COVID-19 Response Programs

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, KCI is currently implementing two programs in partnership with other nonprofit organizations in the Bay Area. These programs support vulnerable Korean seniors by delivering meals and groceries, and provide access to important pandemic-related information and resources to limited English speakers through translations into Korean.

Coronavirus-related Updates from KCI

Update: May 26, 2020

As a result of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and the Public Health Order (shelter in place) for San Francisco and the Bay Area (and now for all of California), the Korean Center is temporarily closed to the public for in-person visits with staff working from home for the time being and the following adjustments have been made to our programs and activities.

Korean Language Program (KLP) for adults

Spring/Summer Semester: we are going online! Currently still accepting Korean Alphabet registrations. Please click HERE to go to the class registration page.

Youth Program: remaining classes in the semester will be cancelled. All currently enrolled students should have received an email from Spring Kim (springk@koreancentersf.org). We are currently developing new platform and curriculum for the program. We will be in contact with you once ready.

Senior/Social Service Program: all in-person senior classes/workshops are cancelled. KCI team has initiated two social service programs in response to COVID-19. Click the program names below to learn more.

Cultural & Other Events: all previously scheduled KCI events have been canceled until further notice. Please check our website for possible rescheduling and other event updates.

We hope you and your loved ones are staying safe and healthy during these unprecented and difficult times. The number of people affected by COVID-19 in the Bay Area continues to grow, and it is critical that we all do our part to help minimize the potetial spread of the coronavirus.

To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, and to protect the health, safety, and well-being of our staff, students and Center users, the Korean Center is temporarily closed to the public for in-person visits, while some of our programs are available online. We sincerely appreciate your understanding and cooperation for any inconveniences caused by these changes to our classes and programs.

We are all in this together. We will continue to closely monitor updates from the SF Public Health Department, so we can continue to support our community as needed, and will immediately announce any changes to the Center’s hours and schedules.
