SUMMARY:What Makes Us Tick: An Introduction to Young-Hae Chang Heavy Industries
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]This Seoul-based artist duo will premier a new work and discuss their signature style\, which syncs original texts and music. \nThis FREE event will be held at Oshman Hall\, in the McMurtry Building\, Stanford University. The address is 355 Roth Way Stanford\, CA 94305 \nAbout Young-Hae Chang Heavy Industries\nBased in Seoul\, YHCHI have created a signature style of syncing original texts and music in English\, Korean\, and twenty-four other languages\, showing many of them in major art institutions and biennials. They were the 2012 Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio Center Creative Arts Fellows. In 2018 M+ Hong Kong acquired an archive of all of their past and future work\, YHCHANG.COM/AP2: THE COMPLETE WORKS. YHCHI gave the 2020 Renato Poggioli Lecture at Harvard University. M+ commissioned a major work\, CRUCIFIED TVS — NOT A PRAYER IN HEAVEN\, for its inaugural museum opening\, in 2021. In 2022 a show of their work\, both on- and offline\, opened at Tate Modern\, London. To accompany their 2022-23 solo show at Neue Berliner Kunstverein\, YHCHI made a 2361-page artist’s book\, SOUVENIR. Their work will be included in the new edition of the Norton Anthology of English Literature.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
