As the last session of the monthly Korean Cultural Workshop Series, we are going to have DIY Makgeolli workshop followed by a social mixer! We’ll learn about the brief history of makgeolli and dive into making your own makgeolli for you to taste and bring home. After the makgeolli making session, everyone is invited to socialize and mingle for the rest of the workshop. We’ll have various makgeolli tasting time with anju(side dishes).

This event is FREE and open to everyone who is 21 years old and over. ***RSVP REQUIRED***

KCI is starting a monthly Korean cultural workshop series ! This month’s topic will be on the public transportation system in Korea! 20th Korean American National Sports Festival

 

The Korean American Sports National Festival is the largest sports event in the United States for the Korean community and is held every two years. This year, the 20th Festival will be held in Federal Way, Seattle and Tacoma.

The Korean American Sports National Festival was first established in 1981 in the city of Los Angeles and has been ongoing for 37 years. At this biennial event, we cultivate intellect, virtue, mutual respect, and cooperation in the 5,000 Korean American athletes, staff, and observers that attend. Through this sports festival, we strive to unify the Korean people by establishing the consciousness and identity of the Korean American community.

DAVICHI(다비치) Concert in San Francisco

 

We are very excited to inform our community that Davichi, K-POP Singer Group, will be coming to Herbst Theater in San Francisco on June 29, 2019.

Kids K-POP Dance Workshop

안녕하세요 (annyeoung haseyo)! We’re very excited to announce a K-Pop Dance Workshop for kids grade k-6! We will be learning the moves of BTS’s hit “FIRE”!!! Come out on April 25th or May 30th to show off your moves! Even if you have never learned choreographed moves, you are more than welcome to join us. Our experienced k-pop dance instructor will be here to help you!

 Free Kidney Disease Screening 

 

Korean Center, Inc(KCI) and the UC Berkeley Chapter of the Kidney Disease and Screening Awareness Program(KDSAP) are collaborating to host a free Kidney Disease Screening at KCI. In addition to providing free services like Blood Pressure Check, Blood Glucose Tes, BMW Test, and Urinalysis, we will be inviting physicians from Standford and UCSF for a free consultation with patients. It is open to the public and no health insurance or appointments are necessary. If you are interested in volunteering for the day, please contact springk@koreancentersf.org.

Holiday Candle Making Class

Kids natural soy candle & Taegukgi ornament making

This special One-day class is offering students to learn about the Korean national flag and its meanings, then to make a Korean flag ornament using a refreshing Mt. Han-la fragrance!

It is a fun and unique way to learn about the Korean flag. Students will learn a basic technique of soy candle making and natural plaster ornament making. This class is for children 8 years old or older. A parent or guardian can stay and provide help during the class if needed.
