Korean Traditional Folk Art, Minhwa, is a type of painting that became popular during the Joseon era. It was painted by unknown artisans, who used symbolism to express their feelings of happiness, anger, and love in everyday life. They are typically used to decorate palaces and homes and to celebrate joyful family occasions.
Minhwa artist Kiyoung Nam will lead this family friendly workshop where participants will have the opportunity to learn more about traditional Minhwa, and paint their own artwork. Once finished, participants will have their own Minhwa work to decorate their homes with!
Families are encouraged to attend. This workshop is open to children ages 8+.
